blender 2.49 yaf(a)ray renders

kind of an e-portfolio of my latest work. all the renders and models are my own. check out my blender playlist: www.youtube.com there are some blender internal, yafray and yaf(a)ray renders. to get all three i had to use blender v. 2.45 + 2.48 + 2.49 which took some getting used to. iv noticed that with yaf(a)ray, which i only started using a couple of months ago, the quality of the renders are much higher than those of the internal and the old yafray(as you will/can see). to acheve the quality in yaf(a)ray i used the photon mapping option, it takes ages but the results are amazing. as an idea of timescale the last clip took about 7 hours to render whereas the longest internal render took only 2 hours. im especially proud of my roman villa/baths style render at the end note: blender internal is blender's default render engine whereas yafray and yaf(a)ray are add-on scripts. if you want to use yafray you have to have v. 2.45. it wont work on later versions. my grass was made with help from the blender guru's "The Secret to Creating Realistic Grass" I stopped doing the following when I grew up a little XD 322 views now 640 now 886 (12/09/09) now 1096 (26/09/09) 7 ratings now 10 now 13 (12/09/09) now 16 (26/09/09) Ignore the rest. 8800GT 9600GT 8600GT 9800GT HD4850 HD4870 HD3870 HD4670 HD3850 9800GX2 9800GTX+ HD4870X2 HD3650 8500GT 9800GTX maxed graphics qx ghz 4,0 5 alan wake trailer god of war lord of the rings sagan om de bannlysta banlysta alan dajz Core 2 Duo E4300 ...

**first tutorial** (and probably the shortest!) with blender 2.45, this is to be used for people who need a quick view of what the FULL HI-RES rendering will look like, because if you save the picture, the quality is bad because you disable the anti-aliaser. [[[ok, if for some reason you are confused by the video, this is what you do: in the RENDER tab, under where it says 100%, click 75%, and click the button above (5,8,sumthin,16) it should say OSA. this will make you're picture render much faster!! although you probably knew this already... no? hmm...
